"We had used another company's ground-face block on the previous phase of the project, but we had some quality-control issues and we were not getting really flush faces . . . and as an architect, you like to use natural materials and a natural color palette. We were able to keep it very light inside, andwe also wanted it because it's durable for high-traffic areas; against shoe marks and things like that."
